1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your commercial relationship with APJ 3D Design Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. (“APJ 3D”, “we”, “us”) regarding our 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD design, CAE simulation, 3D printing, and metrology services (“Services”). By issuing a Purchase Order (PO), requesting a formal quotation, or commissioning engineering work, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Description & Scope of Work

APJ 3D delivers high-precision digital engineering solutions including optical blue light scanning, laser scanning, scan-to-CAD parametric modeling, GD&T inspection (ASME Y14.5), FEA simulation, CFD, automotive benchmarking, and rapid prototyping. The exact scope, technical deliverables, tolerances, formats, and milestones for each project shall be detailed in a formal written quotation or Statement of Work (SOW).

3. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights, 3D CAD models, inspection reports, and engineering deliverables created specifically for the client by APJ 3D under an executed project agreement shall belong entirely to the client upon receipt of full and final payment.

Portfolio & Marketing: APJ 3D will never publish, share, or display proprietary client CAD data, confidential automotive parts, or NDA-protected components in public marketing without explicit prior written consent.

4. Client Responsibilities & Input Materials

Clients agree to provide clean, complete technical requirements, reference specifications, mating components (where physical parts are shipped to our Hosur lab), and timely review feedback. Any delays in providing necessary sample parts or CAD sign-offs may result in adjusted project delivery schedules.

5. Quotation, Purchase Orders & Payment Terms

All engineering engagements require a valid client Purchase Order (PO) or signed work order confirming agreed pricing and deliverables before physical scanning or CAD work commences. Invoices are payable according to the agreed credit terms (Advance, Milestone, or Net 30/60 for approved enterprise corporate accounts).

6. Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure (NDA)

APJ 3D treats all physical samples, drawing blueprints, CAD files, and benchmarking data provided by clients as strictly confidential under bilateral Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). Project data is stored on secure servers with restricted engineer-only access for a period of up to 3 months post-delivery for quality verification.

7. Quality Assurance & Warranty

We warrant that all metrology inspection, 3D scanning, and CAD reconstruction services will be performed in accordance with industry-standard engineering practices (ISO 9001, ASME Y14.5, IATF 16949 standards). In the event of a dimensional deviation exceeding agreed quotation tolerances, APJ 3D will review and re-verify the deliverables at no additional charge.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall APJ 3D Design Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. or its directors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of production, tooling downtime, or prospective profits) arising from the application of digital files beyond the formal contract value.

9. Project Termination

Either party may terminate an ongoing service engagement in writing if the other party breaches material terms. In the event of project cancellation before completion, the client shall be invoiced for documented engineering hours and milestones completed up to the date of cancellation.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any legal dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Tamil Nadu, India.

Can you perform 3D scanning on-site at our manufacturing plant?

Yes. Our engineers travel across India with portable HandySCAN 3D, optical CMMs, and laser trackers to scan parts, dies, tooling, and vehicle bodies directly on your shop floor without disassembly.

How do 3D scanning and reverse engineering differ?

3D scanning captures the raw physical surface geometry as a dense polygonal mesh (.STL). Reverse engineering takes that scan mesh and reconstructs a fully parametric, editable 3D CAD model (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, NX) with design intent and standard geometric features.

What is a color deviation inspection map?

A color deviation map is a 3D visual comparison of the scanned physical part overlaid against the nominal CAD model. Color gradients (green = in tolerance, red = excess material, blue = undersize) immediately highlight manufacturing warpage, shrinkage, or machining errors.

Can dark, shiny, or transparent surfaces be scanned?

Yes. Our blue laser and structured light scanners handle dark and metallic surfaces directly. For highly reflective chrome or clear glass, a temporary sublimating scan spray is applied that evaporates completely without residue.

What accuracy can we expect for automotive and aerospace components?

We achieve volumetric accuracy down to 0.020 mm to 0.040 mm depending on part size and sensor setup, fully verified against VDI/VDE 2634 and ISO 10360 metrology standards.
