3D Inspection & Dimensional Quality Control Services for Manufacturing in India
Providing industry-leading 3D inspection and CAD to part comparison service in India. We help OEM suppliers ensure exact precision before, during, and after production.
What Is 3D Inspection & How Does It Work?
3D inspection is the process of measuring a manufactured part's actual geometry with a non-contact optical scanner and comparing it directly against the original nominal CAD model.
What 3D Inspection Measures
Instead of checking a handful of dimensions with a manual gauge, a structured-light or laser scanner captures millions of surface points across the entire part. That point cloud is aligned to the nominal CAD model, producing a full colour deviation map that shows exactly where — and by how much — the manufactured part departs from design intent.
How It Differs From 3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering
All three use the same scanning hardware, but the purpose differs. 3D scanning simply captures the raw geometry, and reverse engineering rebuilds that scan into a new, editable parametric CAD model. 3D inspection instead compares the scan to a CAD model that already exists, to measure dimensional deviation rather than create new geometry.
Deliverables & Where It's Used
Every inspection project produces a GD&T report — flatness, cylindricity, parallelism, perpendicularity, and true position — alongside a PPAP/FAI-ready summary for OEM submission. It is used for first article inspection, assembly inspection, and ongoing production quality control across automotive and aerospace supply chains.
The Failure Journey
Without proper PPAP and FAI dimensional inspection services for OEM suppliers in India, minor deviations compound into critical failures.
Design Intent
The original nominal CAD model with perfect GD&T specifications. Every tolerance is beautifully theoretical.
Manufactured Part
Physical production processes introduce shrinkage, warpage, and tool wear, changing the exact geometry.
Hidden Deviation
Traditional inspection utilizing manual gauges misses complex and non-linear surface deformations.
Assembly Failure
Parts fail to mate perfectly on the assembly line, causing severe production delays, scrap costs, and lost credibility.
Traditional vs Modern Metrology
Traditional Inspection
Using manual Verniers & Height Gauges
3D Inspection
Full colour volumetric deviation mapping
A manual gauge check against 15–20 dimensions can miss warping or shrinkage anywhere outside those points; a full-surface 3D inspection scan compares all 5M+ measured points to nominal CAD in one pass, which is why it's the default for freeform castings and why it feeds directly into assembly inspection and CAD-to-part comparison workflows.
